We’re used to compartmentalizing our worlds. California is where we used to live, Nashville is where we live now. In Nashville, we see our Nashville friends. In California, we see our California friends. So it was a delight to host our dear friend Glenda for a weekend.
She always goes out of her way to treat us well during our trips to Southern California, so it was great being able to treat her to the best of Nashville and southern hospitality.
We first had to take her around to see all the famous people that just wander the streets here in Nashville. Both her and Kymberlee showed their usual restraint when they met someone mysteriously familiar.
Because Glenda likes the beach, we took her to our neighborhood equivalent. Well, maybe not equivalent, but at least it is wet.
Like many Californians, she really enjoyed the change of scenery such as the lush green jungle that we have in the South. No waves, no sand, no seagulls. But we do have swings!
We kicked around the creek for awhile, rock hopping, rock skipping, and fish gazing, simply enjoying being by ourselves in nature in the middle of a city.
If there is one thing that Kymberlee and Glenda enjoy together, especially in their single days, it was a girls’ night out on the town. I sacrificed myself to a Saturday night home alone, which is right up there with Br’er Rabbit’s “please don’t throw me in that briar patch,” to give them a time to soak up Nashville’s wonderful nightlife.
Since I wasn’t there, I don’t have any details other than a photo sent to me in the middle of the night.
Two great looking women!
We enjoyed finally being able to host Glenda in Nashville and look forward to practicing our hospitality on more visitors. Who’s next?

You’re funny, Paul! You totally made me laugh. I had the best time ever visiting you guys. Maybe it’s the “south” or maybe it’s just you guys, but I felt more relaxed then I’ve felt in a long time. I have to say some of my most favorite memories are sitting on your front porch swing while you serenade me on your ukulele (Kimberley and I trying to pretend we’re playing the drums with sticks LOL), jumping on the trampoline with Evie, drinking your special cup of joe made from your very own roasted beans, I can’t forget your amazing collection of wine, hummm, the fun bike ride to the river and what happens at girls night out, well, never mind. Just kidding, you know us, we just enjoy great food and music.
